Each donor at BOEC has special connections to our programming in one way or another, and we love learning about every supporter’s story. What’s more, is that several donors work for companies that match, double and sometimes even triple their donations.
Emilio participates in BOEC’s Adaptive Ski & Snowboard Program
This month we introduce you to Mario and his son Emilio. Mario, Emilio and the rest of the family have been escaping the Houston, TX heat and traveling to Breckenridge for nearly 25 years now. They often hike around the Sawmill Reservoir, site of BOEC’s Wilderness site the Griffith Lodge, in the summer and enjoy Summit County ski trips in the winter. Emilio joined BOEC in our Adaptive Ski & Snowboard Program, which offers programs supporting kids with autism like him. Emilio, at age 5, quickly became a favorite in the ski office because of his outgoing attitude and extreme willingness to learn. Emilio hit the slopes five times on BOEC lessons during the 2018-19 ski season and his excitement and progression on lessons inspired Mario to give back to BOEC. What’s more is that Mario took the initiative to set up BOEC with

his employer’s matching gift program. In a couple of easy steps Mario was able to triple his original donation with his company’s 2:1 match! This makes triple the difference to BOEC. Thank you so much to Mario, Emilio and the rest of the family. We hope to see you, and especially Emilio, back on the slopes this coming winter!
