Scott Griffith Lodge
In the early 2000’s, local Breckenridge residents Richard and Ann Griffith – and their Griffith Foundation – agreed to make a donation that eventually totaled over $400,000 for the construction of the “Scott Griffith Lodge,” now BOEC’s 6,000 square-foot facility on the BOEC Program Site. The Lodge was rededicated as the Scott Griffith Lodge in July 2005 in memory of their son who died of cancer at the age of 27. The Lodge helped to “change the face” of BOEC, not only by providing a facility better suited for populations with more severe disabilities, but also by providing a much-needed logistics center, a staff office, garage, and a source of revenue in the off seasons.
Overlooking the Old Town Reservoir (Sawmill Reservoir) and surrounded by public lands, BOEC’s Scott Griffith Lodge is a very special place, indeed. One can stand on the veranda and watch the sun sink into distant peaks, listen to the soft murmur of Sawmill Creek and enjoy the tranquility of a private lake. The Lodge is a stone’s throw from the slopes of the Breckenridge Ski Resort. Just minutes from Main Street, Breckenridge, the Scott Griffith Lodge is the perfect location for ski vacations, organizational retreats, weddings and family reunions.
All rental proceeds from the lodge go directly toward funding BOEC’s outdoor programs for people with disabilities and special needs.
