BOEC Lake Dillon Kayak Adventure at Giberson Bay

WHAT: We will have a short orientation and then head out on the water for a relaxing, beautiful and fun paddle. Everyone will have either a single or two person (Kayak) that has been sanitized. We have outriggers so you don’t ever have to worry about flipping!

WHEN: Tuesday August 18, 9:00am – 12:00pm
WHERE: Meet us at the DAY USE Parking lot inside Giberson Bay for a few hours of fun on Lake Dillon. *Look for the big BOEC flag and or BOEC Vehicles.
DIRECTIONS: From I-70 take Exit 203, Frisco/Breckenridge. At the first stoplight turn left onto Dillon Dam Rd. The day use area will be on your right.
PARKING: There is a $5.00-day use parking fee if you are planning on leaving a vehicle parked at the day use lot. For dropping someone off, you can drive into this area without paying. If dropping off your teen, please wait till we have completed a health screening before you leave the area.
TRANSPORTATION: With advance notice, BOEC can coordinate rides to/from event for those who need a ride. We ask that you identify an accessible meeting location in the area where you live. Example is Breckenridge or Silverthorne Rec Center.
What to bring:
- Masks required for orientation, launching, and landing
- Warm clothes or layers as it gets cold out on the water
- Raincoat
- Sunblock
- Personal water bottle
- Snacks
- Your own hand sanitizer (we will provide it too but we would love if you had your own bottle)
- Shade hat and sunglasses
BOEC will provide:
- Boats, paddles, PFD’s
- Instruction and supervision
- Additional hand sanitizer
- Mobile hand washing station
- Additional masks if you forget
- Public restrooms provided by US Forest Service
