This year’s Tee It Up Golf Scramble sold out for the third year in a row and was the most successful tournament to date, raising over $70,000 for BOEC’s adaptive outdoor programming, including the Keystone Adaptive Center and BOEC’s Heroic Military Program. A special thanks goes out to all of our sponsors, golfers, volunteers, Keystone Ranch staff, and virtual auction bidders for making all of this possible.
After a 2020 tournament that saw a number of changes due to COVID-19, this year’s event returned to normalcy with the typical shotgun start and a full complement of 36 teams participating at the Keystone Ranch Course. We were also able to bring back the 19th Hole After Party sponsored by Vail Resorts/Epic Promise and Cornerstone Real Estate Rocky Mountains, where prizes were awarded in a multitude of categories and everyone was able to gather for food and refreshments after a fun day out on the course. The virtual silent auction returned for the second year in a row and helped raise $20,000 for the BOEC.
The scramble included a wonderful opening ceremony thanks to Amy Van Dyken, an American former competitive swimmer, Olympic champion, former world record-holder, who shared her connection to BOEC and how we “give people like her the opportunity to feel FREE again.” You can check out more about her message here. Once out on the course, the clouds parted after a quick thunderstorm, leading to a gorgeous summer day and lots of fun and entertainment across the course.
Every team’s creativity shines through in the photos taken by Elaine Collins, you can check them out here. On Hole Four, ifurnish sponsored the Gateway Golf Gun Launcher where everyone had the chance to shoot for the green. Beyond the fun, it was a competitive event as the top team scored a combined 46 and the second and third place teams finished up with a score of 47. Overall, all but four teams finished under the par 72 for an amazing day on the links.
Congratulations to the following overall team winners:
First Place (46) – Mountain Glo (Lindsey Davis, Zak Himmelman, Player Haynes & Josh Knipp)
Second Place (47) – FirstBank: Brady’s Team (Brady McMillan, Jack Wolfe, Dave Batka, Wilson Blake)
