Kendra Biery
Summer Intern
Hi! I’m Kendra Biery and I am so pumped to be an intern as the BOEC this summer! I’m from Somerset, Pennsylvania and I graduated this spring from Slippery Rock University with a degree in Recreational Therapy. Growing up in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania, I had the opportunity to spend a lot of my time enjoying beautiful areas through all sorts of activities. I grew up on a sports and recreation camp, so I had the cool opportunity to enjoy a lot of outdoor sports. In high school I spent a few seasons teaching ski lessons at my local mountain, and throughout college I worked at my campus rock wall, taught therapeutic horseback riding lessons, ski guided for people that were blind or visually impaired, was a counselor at the camp I grew up at, and was able to work with other fun adaptive programs through the recreational therapy department. All of these experiences and passions led me to the BOEC, where I can be part of making outdoor recreation more inclusive and accessible. I couldn’t be more excited to gain experience and be part of the team this summer!
