Hannah Wood
Summer Intern
My name is Hannah Wood, and I am so excited to share this opportunity with all of you! I am taking this internship to fulfill my 494N practicum requirement, meaning I will officially graduate from the University of Tennessee at the end of the season. I was born and raised in Alpharetta, Georgia, but have loved my past 4 years living in Knoxville! I am currently a senior who started as an Audiology/ Speech Path major, and fell in love with TR after working with my school’s FUTURE program, a group of students who have physical and intellectual disabilities. While I appreciated studying speech path and learning a little bit of ASL, I felt called to TR due to my belief in the shared human experience. My personal philosophy on life is deeply rooted in the camaraderie of leisure and play, and believe that every individual deserves the exact same access to experiences! I’ve always felt most connected with the universe when spending time outside, and just recently served as a Head Counselor for the Koinonia Foundation at a week long camp for children of all levels of ability. I can’t wait to get to experience what it’s like to work in this field on a larger scale out west, and am hoping to gain new knowledge, perspectives, and skills during my time with the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center!
