BOEC & Enabling Tech Donate Adaptive Ski Equipment to Ukraine
Last week, a few of our older monoskis found a new purpose. They are heading overseas to support the growth of adaptive skiing in Ukraine. As the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC) upgrades its fleet with newer models, we are honored to be part of a collaborative effort that ensures our retired equipment continues to serve a meaningful mission.
This initiative is part of a longstanding partnership between BOEC and Enabling Technologies, a Denver-based trusted manufacturer of adaptive ski equipment whose advanced mono and bi ski have equipped Paralympic athletes and recreational programs worldwide. Together, we are donating several of our previously used monoskis to Ukrainian adaptive sports programs. While these skis have supported countless lessons here in Breckenridge, they will now empower individuals with disabilities in a country where access to adaptive recreation is often limited or nonexistent.
Bobby Luscinski, an engineer with Enabling Technologies, along with our Assistant Ski Program Director, Yuri Czmola and Breckenridge Ski Program Supervisor, Tyler Eaton, helped facilitate the transfer and ensure each piece of equipment was functioning at its best. Bobby shared that this is part of a broader ongoing effort: BOEC and Enabling Technologies have quietly partnered over the years to deliver adaptive gear to countries across the globe that lack the infrastructure or governmental support to get inclusive outdoor programs off the ground.
This donation is a reminder that our mission extends far beyond our home in Breckenridge. Whether it’s a day on the slopes or a gesture of international solidarity, we believe that everyone, everywhere, deserves the chance to discover what’s possible.
