Caleigh Sewell
Wilderness Program Coordinator
Caleigh grew up in Asheville, North Carolina, surrounded by the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. She attended UNC Chapel Hill where she earned a BS in Environmental Science with a concentration in ecology and natural resources and spent four years on the women’s rowing team. Her love for the outdoors stemmed from many summers working on trail crews, executing sustainable trail and land management techniques for the continued conservation of trail systems all over the country (even Alaska)! Wanting to transition to a more educational approach to working in the outdoor industry, Caleigh joined the BOEC team as a winter intern in 2020. Eager to expand her skills working with people with disabilities in the outdoors, Caleigh completed PSIA certifications, became a raft guide, and was a course director for both summer and winter programs.
After four years as an instructor for the BOEC, Caleigh is excited to use her knowledge and experience in the field to help her excel in her new role as Wilderness Program Coordinator, and to continue to be a part of providing meaningful outdoor experiences for individuals of all abilities. She is proud to be a part of an organization that strives to make the outdoors inclusive for all!
