In 2023, the Tee It Up Golf Scramble celebrated its 14th year bringing fun to the greens. This year’s event successfully raised over $70,000 in gross proceeds, all of which will directly benefit BOEC’s adaptive outdoor programming initiatives. A special thanks goes out to our sponsors, golfers, volunteers, and BOEC staff, for making all of this possible. This year, we wanted to specifically highlight the organization that we could not run this event without – Vail Resorts EpicPromise and the Keystone Ranch golf and banquet teams. Vail Resorts EpicPromise is one of our Key Partners because of the significant contributions to BOEC’s on-mountain Adaptive Ski Program at Breckenridge and Keystone Resorts and the in-kind offerings that help support the Tee It Up Golf Scramble and BOEC Online Auction.
For any non-profit organization, the net profits are essential in event planning to ensure there is a balance between the cost of running the event and the amount of fundraising dollars contributed to programming or operations. The rule of thumb in the nonprofit industry is that at least 75 cents of every dollar raised at an event should support programming. BOEC’s event revenue accounts for $250,000 each year, approximately an eighth of our fundraising budget annually, yet our costs for running events are strategically planned at less than $25K – keeping 90% for programming. We strive for all our events to have high net profits, but it takes strategic partnerships to do so. For the Tee It Up Golf Scramble, this is where EpicPromise comes to the rescue, donating all of the food and beverage for the entire day including breakfast, lunch, and 19th Hole After Party for 144 golfers, volunteers, BOEC staff, and guests. This is why we say, we could not afford, and could not do this event without the support of generous partners like Vail Resorts EpicPromise. We also greatly appreciate the planning, coordination, and seamless day of execution by the Keystone banquets and golf teams. Thank you!
Additionally, EpicPromise has been a tremendous supporter of our auctions over the years, which have evolved from in-person silent auctions, to what is now BOEC’s Online Auction held over two weeks in August every year. EpicPromise annually donates Epic Passes, Spa Certificates and awesome packages like First Tracks at Keystone, helping us reach our goal year after year. This year, the BOEC Online Auction smashed our goal bringing in $26,800 to support BOEC’s adaptive programs.Thank you to all our bidders who participated and to all of our donors who contributed to the auction!
In addition to Vail Resorts EpicPromise generous support, we are beyond grateful for all of our additional sponsors who stepped up to support Tee It Up this year. Our 2023 sponsors contributed a record-breaking $48,500, with the majority of this sponsorship investment going to support BOEC’s adaptive programs.

Our golfers describe this tournament as one they prioritize each year because it supports the BOEC and because it is good old-fashioned fun! This year we had a total of 126 golfers (32 teams) take on the Tee It Up “Challenge”, and challenges there are! The Tee It Up tournament competitions included men’s and women’s Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, Longest Putt, Beat the Pro, and a Putting Contest on the green at the end of the day.
Finally we celebrated a fun day on the course at our 19th Hole After Party with trophies, door prizes, a 50/50 prize drawing for Beat The Pro, great food and après drinks.
For the fourth year in a row, iFurnish sponsored the Gateway Golf Launcher where everyone had the chance to shoot for the green while also raising additional funds for BOEC!
