Zahkeira Brown (Keria)
Winter Intern
Greetings all! My name is Keira Brown. I was born in Philadelphia, PA, however, being a part of a military family allowed me to travel and live in many states throughout my lifetime. I completed my undergrad and graduate degree at THE University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) majoring in kinesiology with a focus on exercise science and sports sociology. While in Tuscaloosa I worked with Bama’s adapted athletics program as well as a program called CrossingPoints, a post-secondary program for college-aged students with intellectual disabilities. I found passion in giving back to my community through these programs that promoted diversity, equity, and inclusion alongside physical activity and exercise. I love all things sports and the outdoors, especially football! In my free time, I enjoy weightlifting, hiking, swimming, and paddle boarding. During my time here at the BOEC, I wish to gain the skills and knowledge to help open doors for everyone to be able to live a healthy active lifestyle in any setting at all times regardless of circumstances. I look forward to this amazing experience.
