Lolo Harrison
Summer Intern
Hello, hello! My name is Lauren (Lolo) Harrison, I am from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and went to school at Slippery Rock University for Recreational Therapy. I worked at a Therapeutic Riding barn at my school and loved teaching people with varying disabilities how to ride. I chose to come to the BOEC to fulfill my internship requirements for school because I am very passionate about the positive effects that outdoor adventure based interventions can have on peoples mental and physical health. I’m excited to go on over night river trips with participants who have never had the access to long term river trips and help them have an amazing experience with the BOEC. I love being outdoors and doing every possible outdoor activity (except for running), but my favorite thing to do outside is go horseback riding through the woods. Being able to hike in Colorado is very special to me as my dad and grandpa both came out here to hike the Colorado trails every year since my dad was 17. I still carry around all of their passed down gear and can’t wait to continue to use it throughout my time here. I am super stoked to be able to grow here at the BOEC and touch the lives of all the participants that attend our programming. Fun Fact: I crochet dog apparel in my free time.
