Emma Stern

Summer Intern

Emma Stern

Hi, my name is Emma Stern! I was born and raised right outside of Philadelphia. I recently graduated this spring from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology on the Neuroscience Track, and a Letter of Specialization in Developmental Disabilities and Human Services. My passion for working with those with varying abilities sparked through volunteering every weekend with the Philly Friendship Circle during high school. There, I was paired with a child with intellectual/developmental disabilities and would spend the day participating in fun activities. Throughout my university career, my passion only grew. In my four years at UMass, I gained experience working with individuals with all different kinds of disabilities and diagnoses in research, clinical, and educational settings. I even had the chance to attend the world congress for the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in Scotland in 2019. I am excited to integrate my scientific and clinical background and apply it to the BOEC Internship Program to ensure our participants have the best experiences. I am beyond thrilled for what this summer has in store!
