Adriela White
Summer Intern
Hi everyone! My name is Adriela White, and I’m from the small town of Grove City, Pennsylvania. I recently walked for graduation in May at Slippery Rock University, and will be finishing my Bachelors Degree in Recreational Therapy during my internship here at the BOEC. I have always had such a love for being outside, hiking, kayaking, being in the sunshine and watching the stars and the moon! Starting at the age of 12, and for the following six years, I volunteered for Camp R.O.C.K., which is a day camp for adolescents on the Autism Spectrum, and that kick-started my passion for working with people with disabilities. During this past year I was researching places to complete my senior internship, and after my first look at the BOEC I couldn’t see myself anywhere else. I am so in love with the amount of adaptive opportunities the BOEC offers, and the advocacy for people with disabilities that is continually present here. I am so incredibly thankful to be out here and to have the opportunity to learn, grow, and combine my passions of exploring this big beautiful earth and serving others. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else!
