Duncan Smith

Hey everyone at BOEC, my name is Duncan and I am a senior in Parks and Recreation Management at Auburn University. I am from Birmingham, Alabama and my outdoors journey started when I was a baby with my grandfather taking me fishing (every baby photo I have with him has a fish in it). I am a poor fisherman now because in elementary school I joined cub scouts and fell in love with backpacking. I stayed in Boy Scouts until I got my Eagle Scout. I then moved to college and fell in love with rock climbing, which is my current outdoors’ obsession. Through climbing, I found Auburn Outdoors (AO) which is the Outdoor trips, rental center, and climbing wall section of the University Recreation Center. I started working at AO where I do everything from setting on the wall to leading a sky diving trip. My main hobbies outside of the Outdoor recreation world are cooking, watching F1, and I love fantasy books (Lord of the Rings is my favorite and I can talk for hours about it).
