Veronica Jauregui - Summer Intern

Hello everyone! My name is Veronica Jauregui Vaca, I am a 22 year old student at Sacramento State University where I will be graduating in May. I was born and raised in a small town named Colusa, California where my love for the outdoors began near the rivers and back countries. Transferring into Sacramento State is where I found Recreation Therapy and fell in love with the idea of using recreation and leisure activities as a tool to enhance the overall well-being of individuals. I currently work as an Outdoor Trip Leader for the University’s outdoor recreation program, Peak Adventures, leading a series of trips ranging from average day hikes to full moon snowshoes under the stars. I would describe myself as both adventurous and playful, but also maintaining a strong focus and disciplined approach to achieving my goals. I am excited to intern at BOEC as it is a unique learning experience where it incorporates the beautiful outdoor settings and gaining hands-on experience in adaptive recreation. Overall I hope to be a part of making a meaningful impact on individuals with disabilities and developing valuable skills in a supportive environment.
