My name is Taylor Weckstein and I grew up in Traverse City, Michigan— a beautiful, small town where I spent lots of time at the beaches, in the woods and wandering the trails. I started volunteering at a local adaptive skiing program in middle school and high school and absolutely loved it. While I didn’t ski much during college, studying neuroscience at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I did lead backpacking, climbing, and paddling trips through our campus recreation program. Next year, I’m heading off to medical school, but for the time being I’m psyched to share my passion for skiing and adaptive sports at the BOEC. As an intern, I hope to acquire the skills that will help me become a more effective and compassionate adaptive ski coach, and ultimately, a more effective and compassionate doctor.
