SUMMARY:Adaptive Chair Yoga
DESCRIPTION:Join the BOEC and adaptive yoga instructor and long-time BOEC volunteer Jane Barber for a virtual adaptive chair yoga class. The class is for anyone who may benefit from doing yoga in a chair or seated position and will be held virtually using Zoom. She has taught adaptive skiing with Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC) in Breckenridge\, Colorado for the past 17 years. Five years ago she had the inspiration to pursue yoga teacher training so that she could bring yoga to her adaptive skiing clients. She received her E-RYT 200 certification in May\, 2016 from Yoga Roots in Cleveland Heights\, Ohio. Her yoga journey began over 20 years ago but did not become a central part of her life until she sustained an injury during the 2015-2016 ski season. Her yoga teacher training journey has brought her so many more opportunities than she could have ever imagined. In addition to adding yoga to her instructional toolbox at BOEC\, she also teaches yoga with Spaulding Adaptive Sports on Cape Cod in the summer and Yoga Reach of Cleveland\, Ohio in the spring and fall. She is delighted to be a part of BOEC’s entree into virtual programming during these difficult times by offering virtual chair yoga.

SUMMARY:Mindful Making: Create Your Own Mandala
DESCRIPTION:This week’s Mindful Making takes you through the process of creating your own mandala. \nA mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Asian cultures. It can be understood in two different ways: externally as a visual representation of the universe or internally as a guide for several practices that take place in many Asian traditions\, including meditation. In Hinduism and Buddhism\, the belief is that by entering the mandala and proceeding towards its center\, you are guided through the cosmic process of transforming the universe from one of suffering into one of joy and happiness.
