SUMMARY:San Juan River Trip with Telluride Adaptive Sports Program
DESCRIPTION:Open to veterans only\, Coed\nProgram Flyer\nDETAILS\nIn partnership with Telluride Adaptive Sports Program:\n\nBOEC and the Telluride Adaptive Sports Program (TASP) are teaming up once again to offer a unique overnight river trip on the San Juan River.  As two national leaders in outdoor adventure join forces\, the rafting trip is bound to be memorable.  Our staff are uniquely skilled and highly trained in working with many different disabilities\, highly skilled safety managers on rivers and in remote environments\, and gifted at creating fun\, powerful and empowering experiences with young people and adults.\n\n\nWho:  The BOEC and TASP extends a special invitation to guest/invitees of military veterans.  The program is designed to accommodate veterans who have sustained a moderate to significant injury.  Injuries may include\, but are not limited to\, brain injuries\, PTSD\, and/or amputees.  Due to the social aspect of outdoor adventures and camping\, participants must be ready to enjoy the company of other people (including raft guides). \n\n\n\n\nWhat: A classic western river trip format will be utilized. Floating down river in rafts will provide access to a true wilderness environment while providing the ability to serve veterans who have mobility restrictions. An educational component will also be included by providing exposure to the prehistoric culture of the four-corners region.\n\n\n\nWhere: The trip will be conducted on the San Juan River in southeast Utah through beautiful desert canyon country and offers mild to moderate white water that is suitable for vets with significant injury and families with kids. Sandy beaches and camps\, ancient rock art and beautiful scenery will be highlights of the trip.\n\n\n\nWhy:  A multi-day river trip is an ideal setting for military veterans to reintegrate\, acquire new knowledge and skills together\, create bonds\, and have fun together\, and relax.  Away from everyday routines and daily life distractions one can find new appreciations for life and rediscover their strength and solidity as we travel down the beautiful San Juan River.

SUMMARY:Heroic Women's Military Colorado River Trip
DESCRIPTION:Come spend 3 days and 2 nights on the Colorado River traveling down the scenic Ruby Horsethief Canyon in SW Colorado. From the seat of your canoe\, you will be quickly immersed in the start of canyon country with the glow of red rocks\, bald eagles\, and beautiful sunsets on the mighty Colorado. After 3 days of a mellow scenic float\, your river adventure will be elevated as we take a guided tour through “The West’s Best Short Whitewater Trip\,” which is Westwater Canyon. On this 17 mile stretch\, the river quickly narrows and you will be awed by the Precambrian rock – the same rock found in the Grand Canyon – be challenged with class III-IV whitewater\, and finish as the river widens to take in the last views of this scenic stretch of river. \nInvited on this adventure are veterans\, active-duty military\, and members of the Guard and Reserve. This trip includes river and camping gear\, instruction\, meals\, 24-hour staffing\, and a fun\, relaxed atmosphere. Travel will be in canoes\, inflatable kayaks\, and a support raft. \nApply Now
